Jesus Hill Vung Tau Vietnam Part 1

Vung Tau itself is located approximately 75 kms from Ho Chi Minh City (  Saigon ) south Vietnam.

Jesus Hill with it`s large statue at the top one of the main tourist attractions.
Mount Nho,Ha Long Street.

There are about 550 steps leading to the statue,

 which itself has a 133 step staircase inside.

Once inside and at the top of the statue, the outstretched arms provide viewing platforms which give an impressive view of Vung Tau.

Both on the walk up and at the top there are various places to stop for a rest.

The statue is considered to be the tallest Jesus statue in Asia at 32 metres ( 105ft) high.
in addition it stands on a 4 meter platform.

Paris rally Je suis Charlie

Well it was quite emotional watching the news coverage on this, the number of people who came out to support the event a strong showing against extremist terrorism.

Paris and France offered a lot of support with 40  world leaders attending the rally.

Another Koh Tao death

It`s getting to be a dangerous island :

"French man found hanged in Koh Tao with his hands tied behind his back – foul play suspected"

At around 3pm in the 1^st of January 2015 police and rescue teams were called to a bungalow on Koh Tao where the body of a 29 year old French man was found hanging from the ceiling of his rented bungalow. Suspicions arose over what appeared to be a suicide when on further inspection it was discovered the man’s hands were tied behind his back. Wounds were discovered around the man’s neck as well as two 5cm lacerations to his arm, one near his wrist the second near to his elbow. It is thought the man had been dead for around two hours.
